About Us

Owners: Sham and Sarah Ramrattan

JamWest Caribbean Foods, Inc. was created to bring to the Western United States the flavorful foods of their fond island memories.

Born and raised in Guyana, WI (part of the Caribbean despite its location on the South American continent). Sham is a physician by profession, with a commitment to bringing healthy foods and well-being practices to the community.

Sham has combined his passion for flavorful Caribbean food with his commitment to promoting health by offering a line of wholesome products, natural and preservative free, celebrating the vibrant flavors of the Afro, Latin Indo-Caribbean culture.

Sakina’s family migrated to Toronto, Canada with its large Caribbean population is also world-renowned for excellent Caribbean cuisine. Sakina went back to Jamaica to live in 1993, where she had the opportunity first-hand to observe and learn from master island cooks creating island delicacies. Through these experiences she mastered the proper use of various island spices and began to experiment on her own, creating a pleasant blend of Caribbean marinades and sauces.

Our Policy

JamWest Caribbean Foods, Inc. brings high standards to the creation of its food products. Our policy is to use only the freshest of ingredients in preparing our food items. Wherever possible, health conscious choices are made. We strive to keep our foods free from artificial ingredients and limit our use of preservatives. We also use wholesome grain-fed meats that adhere to strict FDA standards and no added hormones. We support our local farmers first by buying produce that is locally grown. We are committed to the authenticity and quality of our food. We strive to be “green” through our use of recycled packaging, efficient use of energy and consideration for the environment as a whole.
